Why Quitting is Sometimes Good

We were taught as children that quitting is a very bad thing to do. "Quitters never win," was a mantra that we heard many times. The fact that it sounds a lot like, "Cheaters never win" made the two seem like evil cousins. Quitting and cheating.

But have you ever stopped to think about that? What if you never quit anything? What if you didn't know when to stop?

High Calling Blogger Robert Hruzek has written a story about the beloved car of his youth, a 1974 Dodge Charger.

Robert loved his car, but one day when trying to work on it, he came to the end of his rope. He had to quit. Turns out, it was a good thing.

When I was younger, I used to own a 1974 Dodge Charger...Now, that was a fun car to own and drive. She had a 400-cubic-inch engine, which was admittedly a bit large; but then again, she was a fairly heavy car. (Back then nobody even thought about gas mileage, and as a young adult, I was mainly concerned with, um, getting there fast.) She has the distinction of being the first car I ever bought new off the dealer’s lot.
