What did you learn on the mountain top?
Remember the old cartoon gag of the mountain guru? Some poor schmuck climbs up the mountain on his hands and knees to talk to the guru. He's sitting in the lotus position. He's got wisdom.
Usually in the cartoon, the guru's wisdom leaves something to be desired and the poor schmuck realizes that he wasted his time climbing up here.
Of course, that realization is a kind of epiphany.
Robert Hruzek's ongoing writing project What I Learned From... is always looking for little epiphanies. It's a religious word, of course, but Robert doesn't limit it that way. Moments of truth need to be shared with others. Even if they can't perceive the fullness of God in such moments, even if they can't experience the full epiphany, their lives will be a bit better because of them.
So I encourage you to think about what you've learned from a mountaintop experience. If you come up with something interesting, post on your blog before Sunday and Robert will link back to you.
