Monster Poetics

L.L. here with a Random Acts of Poetry prompt.

Today we've been talking zombies. Who knew they could be an emotional subject, a cultural commentary, a point of philosophical rumination?

I've never been much of a monster woman myself, yet I see the possibilities. And I admit that some of my favorite poetry is from John Leax, who wrote about everything from babies-with-hooves to the Louisiana swamp monster in Tabloid News: Poems.

Okay, so for all of us who never wanted to look at the monsters under the bed, this week's prompt is a real challenge. Write a poem about (or from the viewpoint of) some kind of monster. Post it by next Thursday, April 29, for a possible feature and definite links here at HCB. Drop your link in my comment box at Seedlings so I don't miss you.
