Transcript:
A professor teaching on the subject of time set out a large wide-mouthed jar. Into the jar, he put a dozen fist-sized rocks. He asked, "Is this jar full?"
His class said, "Yes."
He poured and shook in gravel, filling in the spaces between the big rocks. Next, he dumped and shook in sand between the rocks and gravel. Finally, he poured water to the jar’s brim.
Then he said, “If you don’t put the big things in first, they’ll never fit in.”
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. The big rocks represent our big priorities. Unless they get first place, the smaller priorities will pour in, consume our time, and leave no room for what’s most important—in the high calling of our daily work.

I clicked onto this link because I remember seeing this demonstration in college, but I couldn't tell you if it was done by the same professor. My college days were over 18 years ago.
