Transcript:
My friend recently attended a wedding with her granddaughter Bailey. My friend said to her granddaughter, "During the ceremony, we'll go to the front for the blessing."
When the moment arrived, Bailey gleefully trotted down the aisle, her black patent shoes clicking on the limestone floor. When the priest whispered a prayer over her, the event apparently did not live up to Bailey's expectations. All the way back to her seat, she shouted, "Where's my blessing? I thought I was going to get a blessing!"
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Little Bailey may not have recognized it, but she was blessed just the same. When we can't see the blessings around us, maybe we're just not looking . . . or listening . . . or understanding . . . in the high calling of our daily work.
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior.

READER'S COMMENTS
Too often, our blessings get wrapped up in our ambition. We can't see what God has provided because we are too concerned about what we don't have.
Here's a great blog post about ambition

Every day when we are able to open our eyes and see another day, week, month, year and even less than a second we are blessed.
I thank God that when they discovered lump(s) in my breast that it was not cancer in 2004 or 2005 ... that is a blessing. And the lump(s) disappeared and never came back.
