Transcript:

An 85-year-old man was hard of hearing. Despite his family's pleas, he would not get a hearing aid. They begged and begged. Finally, he went to the doctor and was fitted for ear pieces that enabled him to pick up everything in range.

A month later he returned to the doctor, who happily told him, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be pleased."

The old man said, "Oh, I haven't told my family yet. I just sit and listen to their conversations. And I've changed my will three times!"

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Be careful what you say about other people. You never know who may be listening . . . in the high calling of our daily work.

Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.

(Psalm 32:12-13)

Good message....

Not only should we be careful about who hears us, we should be careful of who how we say things.

The above blog post talks about our language -- what do unbelievers hear? We're talking, but what is getting processed?

I laughed when I read this post but later I became sober when I realised that many times, and about God,  I speak like one of the relations of this man must have spoken. I thank God that HE doesn't change His own Will. "I am the Lord, I do not change. Therefore you are not consumed o sons of Jacob" Mal 3:6. I thank the esteemed Howard Butt for this post.
