In his book, More Than Meets The Eye [1], Dr. Richard A. Swenson observes: "Light consists of tiny packages of energy, called photons. If we could study one as it leaves the sun, then capture it years later as it travels across the universe, we would find it is the same size, strength, and power as when it began. Light is the only thing in all of creation with such characteristics. Isn't it interesting, then, that God calls himself light?"
C. S. Lewis links light and glory. In The Great Divorce [2], he writes, "God's glory flows into everyone, and back from everyone—like light and mirrors."
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. We are all mirrors, but the light's the thing. What are we reflecting in the high calling of our daily work?
And, we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

READER'S COMMENTS
In the Beaatitudes, the word says, "you are the light of the world" and compels us to "let your light shiine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise our Father in heaven". We get the Light that we have from God---our energy source.
Energy breeds energy; and, God's energy flows into us, greater than we could ever have incorporated on our own. As light, we are able to go into areas, scattering around the corners into the darkness. LIght is the only particle of energy that has that characteristic--the ability to move around corners.
God's love sheds God's light and mercy into the corners and cranies of life that otherwise would remain in darkness. We are His hands and feet that enables the process when the Holy Spirit moves us to go. Though we are not aware of what is in the corners and cranies of life, God knows and leads us through so we can be of help to others---His comfort and hope.
When the light hits a solid mirror, it reflects back perfectly the image that is seen. However, when the mirrow is broken, the reflection is scattered and distorted as much of life is distorted unless we have the complete energy generated from God's untimate source--Jesus. It is Christ who has the ability to solidify the reflection when we meet Him--an impact that changes us and sanctifies us into His perfect image again. Praise God!
How interesting. I bet you would love homeschoolhebrew.com. They make the following observation: The letter shin (in Hebrew) appears twice in the word for sun (shin, mem, shin). So, as you observed it starts off as shin, and by the end of the word, is exactly the same. Also, the appearance of the letter shin, looks like three rays of sunlight. So, they have that iconic appearance of radiant sunlight. I could go on and on--but you get the idea. Your connection to science is very much in keeping with the Hebrew method. We Christians would do well to pursue this deeper.
Dear sir,
iwant to know orisa violent in India. why God is permitting these.please explain.
thankU
Raja, I don't know much about Orisa, but I assume you are talking about the religion that is described here. As to why God permits evil and suffering, that is the age old question that people wrestle with.
Since this spot references C. S. Lewis, I suppose this is a good place to mention his book The Problem with Pain. That book is helpful in dealing with the issue of human suffering.
