Author John Erickson started submitting his short stories in 1967 while working full-time as a cowboy. But by '82—with two new rejection slips and his wife pregnant with their third child—a few stories here and there weren’t enough. John borrowed money to start his own publishing company.

He sold his books from his pickup truck at cattle auctions and rodeos. By 1983, 2,000 copies of The Original Adventures of Hank the Cowdog sold out in six weeks. Then the book was recorded on audiotape and Hank became the longest-running children’s series on audio—ever.

This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. John Erickson waited a long time to jump, but now he can tell you: Dreams call for courage—in the high calling of our daily work.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.

(1 Cor. 16:13-14)

This message was timely.  Thank God.  I am facing difficult situations at the work place.  But I believe God is with me and He will take me along the right path.  I've been often giving up on dreams just too quickly.

I will trust in God and go on. Love in Christ, Denny
