It’s here—the annual season of goodwill and peace. But what do we mean when we say peace?
Commonly, peace means the absence of war, no conflict—a truce among people—living in harmony with others.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 (NIV)
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. The peace of this season is a seed planted inside us by the One whose birth we celebrate. Let us receive His gift—peace that grows in the midst of trouble—and share it with others, in our families, our communities, and in the high calling of our daily work.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

READER'S COMMENTS
Christ's peace is not, at this present time, peace in the worldly sents - absence of conflict and wars. Rather, Christ's peace is what He gives us to endure the conflicts of today, to be strong and endure, knowing of who we are in Christ, and standing firm in our faith in His coming again, standing firm on our hope in the the Resurrection and in the real Peace to come on the last day.
