What if Jesus wasn't born 2,000 years ago? What is he had lived in our modern times instead? What would that be like?

Dallas Willard, in The Divine Conspiracywrites this:

"If he were to come today as he did then, he could carry out his mission through most any decent and useful occupation. He could be a clerk or accountant in a hardware store, a computer repairman, a banker, an editor, doctor, waiter, teacher, farmhand, lab technician, or construction worker

In other words, if he were to come today, he could very well do what you do. He might be in your career field.  Does this thought shed a new light on your profession? What if Jesus were in the next cubicle over, suffering as we do? Read One of Us to reflect on this possibility.

When we become Christians, we don't merely choose an eternity in heaven over hell. Rather, we are "born again"; like a newborn child, each of us enters into a new life that we fully inhabit, day-in and day-out. God desires that we pursue a relationship with him every day, in all aspects of life. When we try to live daily life for the sake of his glory, he deems it sacred.
