Transcript: There is huge value in being a Mom. It is a high and holy calling. And, I had a husband who would tell me that when he would leave in the morning. And, it makes me teary to think about that, and I do tell young women that their calling as a Mom is high and holy. It's not glamorous, it's not always a beautiful day, but I really, really believe that for me I embraced it, instead of fought it. I think if you embrace being at home, and all the repercussions of that, that it is a high calling, a holy, holy thing, more than I think we can ever recognize. It was helpful to have a husband to tell me that and to honor me in that position, and to never, ever, ever underestimate my work.

A Christian's ultimate aim is not to get into heaven and endlessly relax. Rather, as we see in the Garden of Eden, work is an essential part of God's design for paradise. God gave Adam a vocation: to name the animals and tend to the garden. Just as every member of the Trinity works to glorify every other member, so are we created to glorify God with our work. Like Adam, we are called to create and cultivate good things for God's kingdom on earth.
