YOUR WORLD

                Your world is confusing
                It pulls left and right
                You'd love to be guided
                By faith, not by sight
                Reality tells you
                Your chances are slim
                The choice is quite simple
                Are you trusting in Him.

                For He has the answers
                To all of your fear
                The quicker you choose Him
                Then He will draw near
                To guide round the potholes
                That hamper your quest
                Be led by The Saviour
                Who knows your path best.

AFTER ALL

After all the Lord has done
                Doubt still reigns supreme
As we go about our day
Our faith is just a gleam
                Maybe we just can't believe
                His death defeated all
                Past and present, future too
                Has been accounted for.

He rose again to give us life
That He would live through us
So with the power that we contain
Why do we still not trust
We cannot do the things we ought
                Without His guiding hand
Be gone all apathy and fear
                Come under His command.

YOU CAME

You came, You saw, You conquered me
            I fell beneath Your spell
            Cause little did I realise
That I was bound for hell
I thought that I was doing fine
            My worldly walk was cool
But rather than a clever dude
            I was a blinded fool.

            The devil was my landlord
            Directing all my ways
he had the perfect plan for me
            With him my future lay
            Thankfully I heard the knock
            I let my Saviour in
The best decision I have made
Has set me free from sin.

TAKE ME AS I AM

Take me as I am, my friend
Cos what you see, you get
                Although I've travelled many years
                I haven't got there yet
                Plodding on relentlessly
                Believing  in The Son
                Who said He brings completion
To the work that He's begun.

Though, at times, it's really hard
I trudge on through the sand
                And reach the odd oasis
Where my journey gets a hand
                All in all, the benefits
                They far outweigh the cons
Cos I am going to heaven
Where my sight is set upon.

EVERYBODY

                Everybody thinks it's great
To go to church each week
                Meeting with the family
                The atmosphere's unique
Gives a boost to flagging souls
                A chance to be renewed
                What a wondrous, awesome place
                To have your sins removed.

But whilst we're getting sorted out
What do we give The Lord
                Preoccupation with ourselves
                Means we can ill afford
To spare a moment of our time
And cast our minds on Him
Who gave His Son to set us free
                From circumstances grim.

So when we go to church each week
                Remember, it's to give
To praise and magnify our God
For whom we're meant to live
Forget the trials of this life
                Just concentrate your all
Upon The One who has a plan
                Please listen for His call.

THINKING BACK

Thinking back to days gone past
            I wonder how I coped
It wasn't how it should have been
            Not nearly what I'd hoped
            The template was defective
            Not blaming anyone
For they were raised in stricken times
They passed them to their son.

            Everyone is similar
            Their childhood formed their lives
Some were lucky, some were not
            But what was then arrives
To drive our thoughts and instincts
            To damage and deform
Thank God that we have Jesus
To help us through the storm.

SIGHT

            You look upon your circumstance
            And shudder at the sight
            You cannot see an answer
To the volume of your plight
            Optically, you see with eyes
            That stare upon a world
            Rejoicing at the spiral
Into which you have been hurled.

There is hope, but only if
            Your faith comes into play
            By handing it to Jesus
There is bound to be a way
To rise up from the ashes
Of a life you tried to own
Not by sight but faith, He says
            Will conquer the unknown.

DRIVE

Where is Jesus in your car
Is He in the driving seat
Or is He sat in the back
Going where you think is neat
Do you blast Him with your sounds
                Raging from your stereo
                Drowning out His quiet voice
Travelling where you want to go.

Surely, when you asked Him in
                He was given your controls
Brand new engine gave you power
                To achieve His perfect goals
You can veer off of the road
If you do not let Him steer
                He's the satnav, never fails
Let Him put you into gear.

CLIMBING

Climbing up the wall of life
                They keep on adding blocks
You never reach the very top
                There's lead inside your socks
Might as well accept the fact
                You're on a greasy pole
Be content with who you are
                Before life takes it's toll.

To be a humble, contrite soul
Is no mark of a wimp
To have the heart of Jesus
Means you never have to limp
You can be a power base
                In weakness you'll be strong
Just try your best to be yourself
And then you can't go wrong.

ARE YOU FREE

Are you free, like the birds of the air
Do you just glide through this life
When all the stresses and strains come along
Do you let Him have your strife
Knowing The Lord is in charge of your life
Means that we're safe in His care
Just like insurance we're covered for all
                The pitfalls awaiting out there.

How do you get to this wonderful state
Where you give Him all of your trust
Do you flicker on and off
Only use Him when you must
He has proved beyond all doubt
How much is His love for us
Go on, let Him have your all
Come, do not make a fuss.
