Family, Inc: Business Strategies Might Improve Your Home Life

Many of today's families are incorporating mission statements, weekly meetings, and goal-setting sessions into their lives, with excellent results, says Bruce Heiler in the Wall Street Journal.

Heiler relates the story of several executives who have taken work strategies and brought them home. David Kidder, an entrepreneur and father of three, is one of those. With the help of his wife and boys, he created a "belief board," which holds a prominent place in their home. Along with listing a dozen core values, it reads, "The purpose of our lives is to contribute our unique, God-given gifts to have an extraordinarily positive impact on the lives of others and the world."
