"An Alexandrian Ship"

There the centurion found an Alexandrian ship bound for Italy and put us on board.

The ship was one of a large fleet devoted to transporting wheat from Egypt, the granary of Rome, to Italy. The economic importance of the ship, significant as it was, did not compare with its missionary importance.

Read Acts 27:38 for a description of the cargo.

PRAYER: I marvel, O God, at how you put everything—the weather, the sea, ships and sailors—to work in bringing about your purposes, working "in everything . . . for good." Praise your great name! Amen.
