Jonathan Ryan is a novelist, blogger and columnist. His Urban Fantasy novel, 3 Gates of the Dead, will be released in October 2013 by PDP Publishing.

Jonathan grew up poor in Indiana and spent two weeks every summer with his grandmother who allowed him to check out books from the library on Bigfoot, the Mothman and ghost stories. He explored all the dark and spooky places of the Midwest, including the mysterious mounds that dot the landscape there. This developed a love for the weird, scary and strange that continues to this day.

Jonathan’s adventurous spirit has led him to live in many states and travel the world. He has given much of himself in an effort to help others, many times at his own risk. Among his work he has completed two service project trips to the Navajo nation. He also went on two service project trips to the Tohono O'odham nation, helping fix vandalized houses and put roofs on homes ravaged by monsoons. Jonathan worked in Belfast to encourage dialogue between Protestants and Catholics before the Truce. While there he walked the Shankill road and was mistaken for a member of the IRA before being questioned and released. He was living in Florida when Hurricane Katrina struck and traveled to Biloxi days after the storm to help hand out water and clear off streets. Jonathan worked with a group of atheists and Christians in New Orleans on two service project trips in efforts to help rebuild the community. While there, he engaged in a conversation with a Voodoo priestess on Bourbon Street about religion.

He has spoken to thousands of people on writing, religion and encouraging dialogue to better get along in our communities. Jonathan’s writing credits include The Huffington Post, The High Calling, TAPS ParaMagazine, Intrepid Magazine and Christianity Today. He has just been given a blog on the world renowned blog site, Patheos.com. Geek Gone Rogue discusses geek stuff, travel stuff, and faith stuff.

The first installment of Jonathan Ryan’s paranormal mystery series, 3 GATES OF THE DEAD, will be released in bookstores and online fall of 2013. The first book in his dark, gritty, new type of hero inspired, Young Adult saga, REVOLUTION OF THE WOLF, will be available everywhere books are sold summer 2014.
