Mark Roberts is the Senior Advisor and Theologian-in-Residence for Foundations for Laity Renewal. As Senior Advisor to our leaders and programs, Mark helps clarify vision, develop strategies to fulfill that vision, ensure theological vitality of program content, enhance unity among our varied programs, and provide spiritual development of program staff. He is working closely with Terry Tigner on the program development stage of the Laity Leadership Institute.

As Theologian-in-Residence, Mark helps our organization develop a deeper theological and biblical understanding so as to fulfill our mission and serve our constituencies with excellence. He represents Laity Renewal through speaking and writing, with the Daily Reflections at the center of this responsibility.

Mark is the author of six books, including his most recent: Can We Trust the Gospels? (Crossway, 2007). He is currently writing a commentary on Ephesians. Mark often writes for Laity Renewal publications, including TheHighCalling.org. He also represents Foundations for Laity Renewal as a writer and speaker in a wide variety of contexts. Much of his writing appears on his Patheos blog.

Before assuming his role as Senior Advisor and Theologian-in-Residence, Mark was Senior Director for Laity Lodge for four years. Before this, he was the Senior Pastor of Irvine Presbyterian Church in Southern California. With a Ph.D. in New Testament from Harvard, Mark has also taught for Fuller Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary.
