About This Video

Summary:
Recently, the High Calling spoke with attorney Dwaine Massey about cultivating character in his children by modeling it through words and actions.

Wow, if I had to file anything under "easier said than done," this would definitely be high on the list. Our families see us in all of our humanity, at our best and our worst, at our most rested and our most exhausted—talk about pressure! When we're at work, constantly expected to perform, we tend to look to our homes as a place to escape those pressures, to "be ourselves." While there is nothing wrong with this in itself, my wife could tell you that all too often me "being myself" means being inattentive, unresponsive, and a bit of a slob.

Obviously families operate on a great deal of grace (and thank God for that!), and the people we love tend to be willing to forgive us—but, especially for our kids, our character at home counts.

Fortunately, gracefully, we don't have to do it on our own.
