How Have You Balanced Your Work and Family Life?

See video

About This Video

Summary:
It's a matter of spending versus investing. Are you merely spending your time at work and with family, or investing your time?

Recently, The High Calling spoke with Matt Barnes, Executive Director of Families Empowered about the challenges of balancing work and family.

Be sure to learn more wisdom from Matt Barnes or watch other industry experts in our 60 Seconds to Significance series who are asking, "How do you balance work and family?"

TRANSCRIPT: It is a daily and a weekly and a monthly challenge to be honest with you. I recently left a fantastic job---this is the second time I've quit a really good job---in part because I needed more flexibility on the part of my family. Thankfully, I have a wife who is really quite understanding, because we keep sacrificing money for time. But, that is a sacrifice that we are prepared to make, and thankfully we have enough money to even consider that as an alternative. The balance comes in strategically moving from spending time to investing it. So, spending time at work, spending time with friends, versus investing time with work, investing time with friends, and investing time with family.
