About This Video

Summary:
Recently, The High Calling spoke with retired CEO of Rayco, Jack Willome, about how his faith has impacted him as a leader and his leadership style.

Sometimes effective leadership means being able to let go. We can't control everything, and we have to be able to trust enough to delegate. As Christians, that means even more for us: learning to place our lives, our sense of control, in God's hands is the only way we can be effective in our faith. This constant act of surrender means always thinking about our priorities. If those aren't straight, nothing else will be for long.

TRANSCRIPT: I think the biggest area that my faith has affected my leadership style is, as I've matured spiritually, being more comfortable with the life of Jesus in me being expressed however he wants to without my help. And that happens relationally, first of all with Him and then myself and then it expands out to other people. You know, He's contaminated every area of my life.
He said that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. So, when He is in charge of my life, that's going to damper this competitive drive that I have that can be destructive and allow his way of doing things to permeate every transaction I've involved in.
