How Do You Define Mentoring?
About This Video
Recently, The High Calling had the opportunity to speak about leadership and mentorship with Jack Willome, retired President and CEO of Rayco.
Transcript: One of the things I've learned as I've reflected on my life is that a lot of mentoring is done with Jesus' method of impartation. Where the mentor imparts their life into the mentee. And so a lot of mentorship happens by just being around the person and doing things with them.
As opposed to saying this is what we are going to talk about today and have an agenda and so on—it's more being with, being along side and experiencing how they do things, how they look at things. My friend Dick Evan's who is the chairman of Frost Bank who've I'd have the privilege of working with for the last 15 years. One of the things I"ve learned from him is the concept of brining people along. Not dictating, not forcing, but the idea leading by bringing people along.
