"Does Your Work Matter to God?" - Evan Loomis

About This Video

Summary:
Recently, The High Calling spoke with Evan Loomis, co-founder of TreeHouse home improvement store, about the value of work and how to view our work through a theological lens.

Often, those of us not engaged in full-time ministry or service work can get pretty discouraged about our role in the Kingdom. If the work we're doing is not having the kind of results we associate with "Christian" work (i.e. evangelism, charitable work, disaster relief), it's easy to feel like it—and we—don't matter all that much.

But wait a second. Since when has being a Christian been all about producing results? The trap we fall in is measuring ourselves by the same standards as the rest of the world; namely, that your worth equals how much you can produce. Christ is interested in us, not in how much we can do for Him.

Wherever you are, whatever your job description, you can glorify God through your work. His love is for us all, regardless of station or occupation.
