"How Should We Engage With Culture?" - Nancy Norris

About This Video

Recently, The High Calling spoke with Nancy Norris, Mother, Wife, and Community Volunteer, about the positive experience of engaging with culture. It can be intimidating to spend time outside our comfortable spaces, but how else can we engage with the communities where we live?

A few weeks ago, I started my first year of grad school at a large public university. From day one, I've been bombarded with new information, responsibilities, and acquaintances—most of whom come from very different places than I do. It can be overwhelming to find yourself in unfamiliar territory, encountering  ideas and beliefs that you may have never even thought about.

But isn't that sort of where we're supposed to be? If we want to have a positive impact on this world, to be a part of what God is doing here, don't we have to interact with it honestly and openly?
